Privacy Policy
This page describes how the current version of Déjà Clue handles data. It is informational, not legal advice or a guarantee of compliance.
Accounts and sign-in
You can play as a guest without an account. Registration and sign-in use Clerk, which handles your sign-in credentials and session.
Déjà Clue stores your Clerk user ID, email address, display name, and account timestamps to identify your account and provide account features.
Games and social features
The server stores your decks, deck selections, saved presets, friend requests, friendships, and friend aliases to provide those features. Friend requests and friend lists show your player ID and display name.
When a signed-in host saves a completed game, the server stores player names, participating account IDs, cards, scores, and turn events. Participating accounts can view the shared game in their statistics. Names entered for guest players are part of that game too.
Guest-hosted games are not saved to the server.
Deck visibility
New community decks default to Public. Other signed-in players can view and use public decks. Friends-only decks are visible to their creator and accepted friends.
Deck visibility is not a way to protect sensitive information. Cards used in a saved game remain part of that game's record.
Data on your device
Browser storage keeps settings, game setup, and unfinished games so you can resume on the same device. Session storage holds results for the results screen.
Clearing this site's browser data removes local data, not records already saved to the server. Signing out does not clear all local game data.
External services
Clerk receives authentication requests and connection information, such as your IP address, when your browser contacts it.
